This work stems from a curiosity to experiment with paper as a material and from the desire to recycle newspapers in an alternative way. The artist seeks to give new life to the stories printed on those pages mostly accounts of crime and tragedy—by weaving them together into a paper fabric that inevitably carries the weight of their content. This fabric simultaneously conceals and reveals: it holds stories that are often cruel, eager to emerge, yet better left partially hidden. The work allows their emotional residue to surface subtly, without overwhelming the viewer.

Quest’opera nasce dalla curiosità di sperimentare un materiale, la carta, e dalla voglia di riciclare quotidiani in un modo alternativo. Mi sono posto l’obiettivo di dare nuova vita a tutte quelle storie scritte su quelle pagine, per lo più racconti di cronaca nera, e così le ho messe tutte insieme creando un tessuto di carta che risenta inevitabilmente del contenuto di quelle storie. Un tessuto che nasconda e sveli, allo stesso tempo, quei racconti spesso crudeli che hanno voglia di emergere, ma che è meglio tenere nascosti. Ci penserà l’opera a far emergere le sensazioni di quelle storie, senza turbarci troppo.
